Toss, hit, catch. One player tosses the other catches

This is a wonderful exercise to get players to interact with each other before they can rally. One player tosses the ball and the partner hits it back so that he/she can catch it. Players can practice hitting the ball directly back or bumping it a few times before hitting it back. The exercise can be done to the forehand side or to the backhand side. The exercise requires a bit of practice for beginners since it involves tossing and hitting with control as well as the ability to track the ball and catch it.
