Tornado alarm: Saving hats in a storm

In this fast-paced action game, the “tornado” whirls through the field and knocks over cones, while the other players have to react with lightning speed to put them back in place – a dynamic exercise in speed, teamwork and endurance.

This is how it works:

One player is the “tornado” and tries to knock over cones. The other players have to put the fallen cones back up as quickly as possible.

Learning objectives:

  • Promoting speed and responsiveness
  • Training teamwork and coordination
  • Development of stamina

Coaching-Keys:

  • Safety: Make sure there is enough court space and point out that there is no pushing.
  • Variations:
    • Restrict the way the tornado moves (e.g. only crawling).
    • Limit the time in which the cones have to be put back in place.
    • Form teams to compete against each other.
