This is a great exercise to work on control, adjustment and collaboration. Two players hold a stick with their non-dominant hand, each one holding one end of the same stick.
The children put their racquets on the ground in a circle around another racquet with 12 balls, two balls per player.
The coach calls the color of the cone that the player should touch. After 3 touches he feeds a short ball, which the player has to hit over the net with solid technique.
The players move as quickly as possible between both cones following a figure 8.
The players jump over a line back and forth as fast as possible. This exercise works on speed and balance.
Two children hit balls to each other trying to keep the rally going withour mistakes.
Players practice their serve. They hit serves to an open court without a returner and work on their technique.
The coach and the players rally hitting only volleys. Ideally they want to keep the ball in play for at least 6 shots.
Two children throw a reaction ball to each other. One throws it through the target at the net and the other around the target, sometimes to the right and sometimes to the left.
The goal is to have the children throw the reaction ball over the target and then run to touch the net.
